Ice Cube has just signed to act as Vin Diesel’s replacement in the sequel to “XXX.” According to Revolution Studios, each subsequent sequel will introduce a new character. In the original movie Vin Diesel starred as an extreme athlete who became a secret agent. It is unknown how Cube’s role will differ. However, director Rob Cohen has been replaced by Lee Tamahori.
Cube has a multi-picture deal with Revolution, through his Cubevision production company. Cube will star in their upcoming picture “Are We There Yet” and recently did some casting for “Willie.” The latter is a story of a high school janitor who led a high school basketball team to a championship title.
Cube also finished filming on the anticipated sequel to his controversial hit “Barbershop” and will appear in the upcoming movie called “Torque.”
