Originally thought to be released with “The Black Album,” Jay-Z has just now signed a publishing deal for “The Black Book” with MTV Books/Pocket Books. The multi-platinum emcee will co-write the book with hip-hop journalist Dream Hampton, it is due out this spring. While we are on the topic, when is someone gonna start a poll on the message board as to whether this will actually be Jay’s last album. Say, wasn’t “Reasonable Doubt” his last album?

In order to help promote “Cheers” Shady Records’ DJ Green Lantern made a Obie Trice mixtape “The Bar Is Open.” Undoubtedly the highlight of the mixtape is the “Funk Flex Interlude.” First Eminem impersonates Funk Flex before going on to do Busta Rhymes, Snoop, Dre, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and Canibus. His 50 Cent is definitely the best, the way he says ‘Shady Records; is dead on. His unflattering Canibus impersonation is pretty amusing as well…
