With “The Ownerz” in stores and the tour coming to an end, Primo is ready to get back in the lab and work on his long-awaited solo album. Word is he will enlist the help of hip-hop’s hottest star of the minute, 50 Cent, for a track. 12 tracks, 12 producers? The layout of Jigga’s may be in question as Primo will contribute two tracks to “The Black Album.”
With rumors swirling about where Rakim where land, it looks as if he will be inking a deal with Dreamworks. That’s all well and good but we all know what we want to hear – who is producing for him. Right now the plan is Premier and Large Pro. I can get with that.
Coming up on Primo’s Year Round imprint will be a 12” from Screwball’s Poet. Primo produced both the a-side (“Poet Is Coming”) and the b-side (“Message From Poet”). Lastly, an instrumental version of “The Ownerz” will drop at the end of the month. Many thanks to hiphopsite for all the above info.
