Last week in Los Angeles Damon Dash was in Fred Sigel’s, an upscale department store. When he questioned why the store’s men’s sportswear department didn’t carry Rocawear, the stores female manager told him it was “too urban.”

A witness said that Dash loudly lectured the manager on why Rocawear was superior, and criticized her for not knowing what was “street” and “hip-hop.” At one point, the manager said, “I’m not going to sit here and argue with you.” To which Dash replied: “You’re just a store manager – I run a corporation.”

Even worse, Dash then threatened to have his artists make a song dissing the manager and Fred Sigel. Now that’s gangsta. A rep for Dash told the NY Post, “When Damon asked why Fred Segal didn’t carry Rocawear, she said it was ‘too urban.’ He said, ‘Why is my line too urban, because it’s run by an urban person?’ He said she was very disrespectful.”
