The Boo Yaa Tribe took over P. Diddy’s NYC eatery, Justin’s on Thursday night. Performing songs from their upcoming CD, “West Koasta Nostra” due out October 7, the six Samoan brothers–The Godfather, Kobra, Monsta O, Ganxsta Ridd, Murder One and Gawtti–were dressed up to get down. DJ Premier was spinning and MTV’s Sway and super stylist Groovy Lou among others were in attendance. Boo Yaa’s CD is produced mostly by West Coast phenom Battlecat and features Mack 10 (on the first single, “Bang On”), Eminem, WC, Kurupt, Eminem, Crooked I, B-Real, Knoc-Turn’al, Kokane, Short Khop, Eastwood and Gail Gotti.

One of the most impressive feats of this CD–besides featuring hip-hop’s #1 MC and an A-list of guests–is that Boo Yaa worked with Crips (they are Bloods) and acts from both Suge Knight’s Death Row and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath, despite the two labels’ beef. “You got the East Coast working together, the Dirty South working together, but the West just fell apart,” explains The Godfather.

Boo Yaa Tribe recently signed to Sarinjay Entertainment. In addition to “West Koastra Nostra,” the group plans to release their 1992 project, “Good Times Bad Times” featuring George Clinton, Living Colour, Ice Cube and Ice-T. They’re also at work on a rap-metal album with a cameo by Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash and have a clothing line, G.A.W.T.T.I., Gangstas Always Wear The Tightest Issues.
