New York native C-Rayz Walz has been putting it down in the NYC underground scene for a minute now. After making a reputation on the freestyle circuit, C-Rayz released “The Prelude” EP in 2001 to critical acclaim. He gained a lot of attention for his 10 minute song of emcee impersonations, adopting the voice, flow, cadence and the lyrics of the likes of Eminem, Sticky Fingaz, Sadat X, DMX and Busta Rhymes.

With the do-it-yourself “Singular Plurals” and his 2003 street album “The Limelight,” C-Rayz has teamed up with Definitive Jux for his official debut LP. “Ravipops (The Substance)” drops July 29th, and will surely prove why El-P was so persistent on releasing this album on his label. The only guests come on the massive posse cut featuring MF Doom, Vast Aire, Breezly Brewin, J-Treds, Wordsworth and Thirstin Howl III.
