On March 24th Fabolous was arrested for criminal weapons possession charges for a licensed gun carried by his bodyguard. Fab and four other men were arrested in NYC outside Webster’s Hall despite Rodger Renrick providing ownership and a license for the 9mm.
Fabolous’ attorney Alberto Ebanks says that Renrick was only licensed to carry the firearm in Massachusetts, but given that he claimed ownership should have cleared Fabolous and the other men of any charges.
“The actions and motivations of the music task force are questionable,” Ebanks said. “The law requires that police act on probable cause if someone commits or is about to commit a crime. Police action on anything short of this is impermissible, intolerable and illegal.” At this time Fabolous and his attorney are preparing a $5 million dollar lawsuit against NYC.
