As one of the independent scene’s best-selling and well-received acts, Atmosphere has always had major labels showing interest. Not one’s to compromise their sound, Slug and Ant have never found the right situation for them. Word outta hiphopsite is that the duo just came very close to joining the Interscope machine. Once again, the cards just weren’t right and the Minneapolis duo passed. Their label mate and creator of this year’s best album, Brother Ali, has also got some major labels interested in his services.
Eminem is reaching further with his production efforts, recently hooking up with hip-hop’s only massive Samoan emcees, The Boo Yaa Tribe. Mr. Shady also lends some rhymes to song along with B-Real. Look for “911” to be included on Boo Yaa’s upcoming album “West Costra Nostra.”
