It’s in the books folks, D.O. (Da Orginal) has set the official Guinness World Record for the longest freestyle rhyme. With no record previously set, D.O. just had to rhyme for 30 minutes to set the mark. Not wanting to get his record broken any time soon, D.O. rhymed for an incredible 8 hours and 45 minutes.
“I could have kept going,” says D.O. who rapped beyond the closure of the fairgrounds at the Toronto festival. D.O. even managed to get the crowd involved, allowing people to choose topics for him to rhyme about.
D.O. took just one 15 minute break, one which was imposed by the Guinness officials. So when next years Guinness Book of World Records comes out, be sure to check for D.O.’s name under “Longest Freestyle Rap.” Toronto represent!
