I’m sure you all know of the beef between Royce Da 5’9 and D-12 that has been brewing over the past months, with particularly personal feelings being harbored between Royce and Proof. According to hiphopsite, the two Detroit emcees got into an altercation on the 4th of July. The scuffle was broken up and both men were detained by police on concealed weapons charges. Royce and Proof were then put into the same holding cell, and rather then duking it out, they talked things out and have officially squashed their beef. The two have planned to collaborate as well…but can we a get a reconciliation and collaboration with Em too???
An LP to get your eyes on, Lifesavas “Spirit In Stone.” As the newest members of the mighty Quannum crew (Blackalicious, DJ Shadow, Latyrx), it is no surprise how fresh this album is. Be sure to check this one out.
A few other notes from hiphopsite, that have surely gotten me amped. First off is news Vast Aire’s solo debut, the Harlem scissor tongue has enlisted vocal help from Aesop Rock, Sadat X, MF Doom, Vordul, Blueprint, SA Smash, and Breezly Brewin. Production credits are about as dope with Rjd2, Ayatollah, MF Doom, NASA, Cryptic One, Da Beatminerz, Blueprint and Camu Tao. Does anyone else notice a certain Def Jux founder missing from the production credits? After seeing so much of Vast on the Def Jux DVD, I am only that much more excited for the project from this multi-talented cat.
Aside from their collaborations with Vast Aire, Rjd2 and Blueprint are also preparing to release their highly anticipated Soul Position full-length. “8 Million Stories” should be dropping in September on Rhymesayers, with an instrumental version coming soon after. Can we get an instrumental of the EP while your at it?

To file under the ‘who gives a shit’ column, Cam’Ron is mad at Nas and is saying bad things about him. I guess Nasir has been getting Cam’s shows cancelled all around NYC. Gotdamn Nas, that is some clout!
