After having his album pulled off the shelves after Koch released a bastardized version of his “KRStyle,” it looks as if it will see the light of day after all. Of course, this will be the version KRS intended to release, inclusive with the JMJ tribute, completed mixes and 3 new tracks. The blastmaster also has a CD/DVD, “Down To A Science,” dropping later this year on Grit Records.
In an interview at urbansmarts, emcee/DJ/producer J-Live had some comments regarding his highly anticipated third LP: “It’s called “Hereafter”, kinda like in the same sense of “All Of The Above” dealing with the heavens above, the hereafter more like what do you’re here after all the bullshit. People talk about the hereafter like heaven; a place they go after they are gone. But I’m talking about like heaven in a musical sense of what you can do for yourself to make life better while you’re here. What happens in the aftermath of all what’s going on in the world right now. What happens after the second album how I grew as an artist. Things of that nature. I’m just starting to record some of the first songs so hopefully it should be out by the fall.”
Some major heat is coming from the East coast of Canada these days, namely from an emcee named Classified. Although he has been putting it down for a minute now, Class should get much more attention with his new LP “Trial & Error.” Some outstanding work on that album I tell ya…
Given that I am just a hop, skip and a jump from Toronto, I caught some info about the shooting that took place following the Roc The Mic tour. Apparently, in a crowd of hundreds of people some cat pulled out and just started firing without much hesitation. According to a girl who was just a few feet away from the man that was hit, everyone nearby was on the ground after the first shot and by the time everyone looked up, the shooter had jumped in an SUV.
