One of hip-hop’s true pioneers, few people are as qualified as Kool Moe Dee to rate the best emcees of all-time. Kool was a member of the legendary Treacherous Three in the early 80’s, before going solo by the mid-80’s.

“There’s A God On The Mic” rates the top 50 rappers by a number of criteria, similar to his rap “Report Cards” back in the day. Among the criteria is vocabulary, articulation, stage presence, creativity, voice, originality, records, sticking to themes, innovative rhythms etc. On his previous ratings, Lauryn Hill received the highest score with 97 out of 100.

In addition to Moe Dee’s ratings, photographer Ernie Paniccioli will lend pictures to the project. Paniccioli just released his own book last year as well; “Who Shot Ya: Three Decades of Hip-hop Photography.” Moe Dee’s book will hit stores this September.
