Though Common’s upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer, will be released on Warner Bros. Records, the Chicago emcee clarified that he still has a relationship with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label.

“I’m still G.O.O.D. Music-affiliated,” explained Common in an interview on DJ Drama’s Aphilliate’s Radio Show on Shade 45. “The album is not coming out on G.O.O.D. Music because, business-wise, we had to just make other moves. But, man, ‘Ye, the whole G.O.O.D. Music family…they all my peoples.”

The subject of Kanye West led to a question about Common’s frequent collaborator’s involvement with the album. “He ain’t produce on it. He actually hopped on one of the songs, the ‘Sweet’ remix. He definitely was loving the album. He was happy that me and No I.D. connected. No I.D. introduced me to Kanye years ago.”
