Here is the latest on the first clan of hip-hop. ODB dismissed the concerns of Wu brethren saying that he signing with the Roc hasn’t changed a thing (Raekwon and several others were upset ODB never informed/consulted them of his decision), and claimed that another Wu album was coming. However, Method Man dismissed that idea.
Meth’s frustration with the group is increasing due to poor studio sessions, “Brothers were sitting there with nothing written. They were just coming in and singing 16 bars, no hook. You can’t just sit around in between albums and not write. You can’t just sit around between albums and not produce. Cause when you go back inside the studio, you’re stale. And that’s basically what was going on.”
Not everyone is upset though, when Inspectah Deck was asked about his thoughts about ODB, he said, “I’ll say it again – on the ground level, outside looking in, that’d be treason…mutiny even. But from a grown man’s standpoint, my man been out the game just as long as me, three to four years…he’s doin’ a grown man thing,” INS told Thick Online. “He hooked up with some cats that’s willing to meet his needs and willing to give him what he needs right now. It’s more power to him. I’m gonna support whatever he do. If it’s true he down with the Roc then, hey, Dirty gon’ do what he gotta do over there. And he’s still gon’ be Dirt Dog McGirt, he’s still gon’ be Wu-Tang for life. I garauntee you.”
