In a product placement marketing plan that was made in heaven, Nike had an entire song dedicated to their classic Air Force 1 shoe by Nelly and the St. Lunatics. Nelly’s song of the same name received an abundance of airplay and gave Nike free promotion for their shoe.
Nike has rewarded Nelly with his very own Nike shoe. The “Air Derrty” will be a limited edition shoe that will be limited to 1000 pairs. The distribution of the shoe has been Niketown stores in Chicago, Atlanta and New York, and Squad 1 Sports in St. Louis.
The proceeds from sales will go to 4sho4Kids, Nelly’s charitable organization. The organization aids children with developmental disabilities and offers healthcare classes and educational opportunities in the St. Louis area.
