El-P and the Def Jukies are set to have another landmark year in 2003, with MURS’ incredible LP already under their belt and RJ’s new EP just hitting the shelves; there is still plenty more to come.
The next full-length release comes via SA Smash, a group consisting of Ohio’s Camu Tao and Metro. “Smashy Trashy” is said to stray further from the “Def Jux” sound than any other release thus far. It features production from Camu Tao, Embedded, El-P and features guest spots from Aesop Rock, Vast Aire and Cage. Be prepared on June 6th.
The Stronghold crew member and underground legend C-Rayz Walz will also be making his Def Jux debut with “Ravipops” on July 29th. No word on guests or production yet, just expect another dope release from C-Rayzy.
Lastly, Aesop Rock will be making his long-awaited full-length follow-up to his classic “Labor Days.” The indie icon will blast with “Bazooka Tooth” on September 26th. His new video, “No Jumper Cables” (from the Style Wars soundtrack), will be out shortly.
