I guess Jigga was right when he said he was the Mike Jordan of rap. At least he can sell shoes like Mike anyway. Jay and Reebok launched the S. Carter Collection on April 18th and they are moving out the stores like his records. Most stores have reported selling out in less than an hour. They are on pace to break Reeboks all-time sales records.
“It’s a beautiful thing,” Jay-Z told AllHipHop. “We dreamed about doing it, put a plan together, we made the shoe and now it’s really happening. I’m excited about the results and now the collection is just going to grow… Hearing about people waiting in line to buy the shoe at 6 A.M. and waiting for hours in the cold and rain has just been love.”
The white low cut shoe also comes with a limited edition Jay-Z mixtape. “The S. Carter Collection Mixtape” has been on the net for a couple weeks now, and features some new material as well as exclusive freestyles.
