Coming straight outta Philli, The Roots have been making critically acclaimed albums since “Organix” in 1993. The Grammy award winning hip-hop band released their latest opus this past November to another wave of praise from fans and critics alike. Their image and style seems to be exactly what P.Diddy is looking for.
Sean John’s new advertising campaign is said to be focused on entertainers who are original and have paved a way for others in their field. The Roots, certainly meet that criteria as one of hip-hop’s few it’s finest band. ?uestlove (drums), Black Thought(vocals), Hub (bass), Scratch (human turntabilist), and Kamal Gray(keyboards) have always pushed hip-hop’s creative boundaries.
The Sean John campaign, which also features the likes of Rev. Al Sharpton, actor Mekhi Phifer, Gang Starr, Common, Fabolous, and of course, P.Diddy. You can check out The Roots ad: roots-seanjohn.
