Considering their overwhelming list of contributions to hip-hop, too few people recognize D.I.T.C. as one of hip-hop’s premier crews. The crew is made up of producer/emcees Diamond D and Lord Finesse, producers Showbiz and Buckwild, emcees O.C., AG and Fat Joe. The deceased Big L was also a key member.
While their actual debut as a crew was disappointing, (“Worldwide”), virtually every member has made a classic album (or two). Diamond D’s “Stunts, Blunts, and Hip-hop,” Lord Finesse’s “Funky Technician,” Showbiz & AG’s “Soul Clap” and O.C.’s “Word…Life” and “Jewelz” are among those.
According to O.C., the crew has hit the studio to bang out another crew album. He also said that we can expect some additional members this time around. Among those new faces is NYC’s Mic Low. They hope to release the album this summer but it very well may not be out until late 2003/early 2004.
