The Roots, Dice Raw Return To Philadelphia's South Street For Pre-Picnic Jam

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Hip Hop band The Roots spent years in the early 1990s performing on the city’s famed South Street. The collective which has gone on to release Grammy Award-winning albums and work with the likes of Jay-Z, Mos Def and Blu will be celebrating their annual Roots Picnic next month at Philly’s Penn’s Landing.

Prior to the day-long event featuring performances by Nas, Wiz Khalifa and Yelawolf as well as The Roots, the group will return to its origins with a Pre-Picnic event at The Legendary Dobbs, a venue at 3rd and South Streets. On Friday June 2, the group will be joined by longtime affiliate Dice Raw, the Money Making Jam Boys and deejay J. Period, among others.

Admission is $10.
