In preparation for his fifth LP, DMX is trying to reach every market. In the coming months DMX will be featured in XXL (cover story), GQ and Playboy. DMX’s album was originally slated to come out during late November’s rush but he decided to hold off. There is no set date yet but the album should be dropping in the summer months.
X will certainly be getting his fair share of exposure, not only with the magazine features, but with his autobiography being released recently and his new movie hitting theatres in the spring. The Playboy feature will certainly raise the most eyebrows though, even if DMX is not the first rapper to act as a guest photographer. Xzibit did the dirty work several months ago.
While in the studio taking photographs, DMX commented jokingly that “work is getting harder everyday.” After getting a camera lesson, X was flashed by Heather McQuaid, the Playmate he would be photographing. All he could say was, “yeah, I like this.” After the shoot DMX was again rather speechless when he pondered “how could anyone not love this?”
