Hip Hop’s greatest band has been tapped by Comedy Central to play at their first ever Comedy Awards in April.
Eddie Murphy will be honoured at the inaugural show with their “Comedy Icon Award” for his career achievements as an actorn and stand up comedian.
“Eddie Murphy’s impact in the world of comedy is immeasurable,” said Casey Patterson of MTV Networks Entertainment Group. “From the characters he created on ‘SNL,’ to his groundbreaking stand-up performances and unforgettable film roles, Murphy changed the game forever and we’re honored that he will be joining us for the first-ever Comedy Awards.”
Presenters at the show will include late night Comedy Central favorites Jon Stewart and Stephan Colbert, 30 Rock’s Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan, South Park creators Matt Parker and Trey Stone, Louis C.K. and The Roots’ partner-in-crime Jimmy Fallon.
