As the NBA gears up for 2011 All-Star Weekend, the stars are lining to attend and perform during the game. Rihanna is currently slated to to take the stage during the halftime show of the All-Star Game, but rumor mills have been buzzing that Mr. West may be in the building that night to perform.
According to MTV, word is that Kanye West may “make a surprise appearance during Rihanna’s halftime show at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Sunday” to perform his single “All of the Lights.” Although West’s representative had no comments as to whether he’ll perform, an NBA insider gave the scoop to Deadspin.com about his possible performance.
Although ‘Ye’s presence on stage this weekend is debatable, Rihanna isn’t the only one who the NBA enlisted to perform. Lenny Kravitz will play a set prior to the game’s tip-off, while Josh Groban and Melanie Fiona will sing the American and Canadian national anthems, respectively.
Friday and Saturday will also find a number of performers taking to the stage. Cali Swag District will play a set during the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam on Friday. Saturday night will find Keri Hilson belting the national anthem, with Cee-Lo Green performing during the three-point shooting contest and the Far East Movement hitting the stage before the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.
