Let’s add this up, “The Eminem Show” has sold 6.9 million albums so far this year, the biggest selling album of the year for any genre. After several weeks at number 1, the album is still at number 15 after 29 weeks on the chart. The “8 Mile O.S.T.” also reached number 1 on the charts and is still at number 5 after 6 weeks with 3 million plus sold. That album sold largely to the single “Lose Yourself,” which is still the number 1 song after 12 weeks.

His movie, “8 Mile,” was the fifth highest grossing movie ever released in November and to date has brought in over $111 million at the box office. Eminem has received nothing but praise from all the major critics for his performance. How about some more? His new DVD, “All Access Europe: Live,” has gone sold over a million units. Don’t forget the Album of the Year from MTV Europe and Billbaord. One more? He won the 50 Cent bidding war.

Undoubtedly, one would think that after one of the biggest, if not the biggest year ever for a rapper, his influence and power would be apparent. Guess again, The Source decided that Eminem is not at all influential as he was left off of their “Power 30” list for 2002. However, “The Flavor Unit” (huh?) got the 28th spot. Do you spell petty B-e-n-z-i-n-o?
