According to this months Vibe Magazine; with all of Roc-A-Fella success and notoriety, I’m sure most people forget that the Roc is still part of the Def Jam family. Some have argued that due the immense success of Roc-A-Fella, they no longer need the security blanket of Def Jam.

The way things are going now, the relationship may be over at the end of their current contract. Roc-A-Fella co-owner and Def Jam President Lyor Cohen are in a war of words with one another. It all stems from Lyor trying to get Jay-Z to sign a separate deal with Def Jam. This would put Dash out of the picture.

Even though Jay declined the offer, the attempt still irked Dame, “I have no faith in Lyor. He doesn’t care about anything but making money, regardless of who he exploits or hurts.” Lyor has responded by saying that Dash should “spend less time partying with models and more time worrying about business.”
