Ciara and 50 Cent exchanged barbs via Twitter over the weekend after formerly being romantically linked. Rumors of the pair dating began in 2006, when they both appeared scantily clad in Ciara’s “Can’t Leave Him Alone” video. In December of 2010, the singer told talk show host Wendy Williams she was not romantically linked to 50.
“[He’s] like my best friend,” Ciara told Williams. “He’s been my best friend for years. So it’s definitely positive energy. That’s pretty much the situation. I haven’t really had the chance to do like dating over the years from my relationship with the young Bow [Wow]. I just really want to take my time, because that’s what it’s about.”

There was no positive energy exchanged Friday night, as 50 Cent sent out a series of messages to his nearly four million Twitter followers. Having just left the Playboy mansion, 50 joked he was looking for “potential hoes” so he could be a pimp. Immediately afterward, in a message not sent directly toward 50, Ciara told her followers, “The things people tweet say a lot about their character, pay attention.”

The back and forth ended after a brief exchange where 50 Cent called Ciara a bitch and told her to get a sense of humor. The argument may have been real or possibly another one of 50 Cent’s Twitter pranks. It’s been an interesting start to 2011, with 50 Cent using his Twitter feed to temporarily inflate shares of his H&H Imports stock and later claiming to have shut down WorldStarHipHop.com.
