David Banner named his 2003 album, Mississippi. The Jackson native has always championed his home-state through lyrics, titles and even a tattoo. Today it was announced that the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame is thanking Banner, inducting him. The emcee/producer will be joining the likes of B.B. King, Elvis Presley and Muddy Waters.
In a statement, David Banner said. “For so long we travel around the world as artists trying to find our place in the scheme of things. There is nothing like being recognized at home. Tonight I am honored and humbled to be in great musical company.”
Last month, David Banner and Grammy Award-winning producer 9th Wonder teamed up to release Death of A Pop Star. The album features Ludacris and Erykah Badu.
