Nielsen Soundscan recognized Eminem as the past decade’s top selling artist, and he followed the achievement up with 2010’s top-selling album, Recovery. What comes after moving 3.7 million copies and releasing what has become the best-selling album since 2007’s Noel by Josh Groban? Apparently movies. According to The Hollywood Reporter Eminem is contemplating a role in the upcoming 20 Century Fox film Random Acts of Violence.
“The project has been in development at Fox for more than four years, and the script reportedly has gone through multiple drafts, with the most recent version said to center on an ex-con just released from prison who is trying to stay on the right side of the law despite pressure from his former comrades,” wrote Kimberly Nordyke of The Hollywood Reporter. “At the same time, the FBI is trying to recruit him to bring down the syndicate.”
David Von Ancken is currently set to be the director of Random Acts Of Violence. His previous credits include the Showtime series “Californication” as well as episodes of “Cold Case” and “CSI:NY.” Should Eminem confirm the role, it will be the second such acting project he has taken on since the movie 8 Mile in 2002. Em is also in talks to play the lead character in the upcoming boxing movie, Southpaw.
