Chicago, Illinois emcee and actor Common is being honored in the state of Wyoming. The G.O.O.D Music artist has been announced keynote speaker at the University of Wyoming’s 10th annual Martin Luther King March and Day of Dialogue. The festivities run between January 17 and 21, with Common’s speech on the 18th at Wyoming Union Ballroom at 7pm. The rapper’s appearance is free and open to the public.
“When charged with planning the 10th celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue and March, we as a committee, felt that it was important to discuss as many pieces to diversity as possible. We are covering many issues including race, sexual orientation, veterans and religion,” said Kate Steiner, MLK/DOD co-chair in a statement.
This year’s event theme is “A Decade of Defining Diversity Through Dialogue.” For more information, visit The University of Wyoming’s press release.
