During a radio interview earlier today, rapper Lupe Fiasco announced that Bronx up-and-comer Mickey Factz will take his place alongside Asher Roth, B.o.B, the Cool Kids, Diggy Simmons, Blu, Wale, J.Cole and Charles Hamilton as the latest addition to his super-group All City Chess Club. Factz, who said he was surprised by his former touring mate’s announcement, told Vibe that he immediately Tweeted yes to the Chicago emcee’s request.
“Lupe had an interview at a radio station and he said ‘Mickey Factz is part of All City Chess Club,'” said Factz. “I just twittered him: ‘I humbly accept’…me and Lupe, we’ve spoken a lot in the past, toured together, so it just makes sense. We kind of have the same ideology when it comes to music, so I’m glad that he finally decided to put me down. It’s definitely a natural fit.” (Vibe.com)
Factz, who recently released his latest mixtape I’m Better Than You, said that he has already been in contact with fellow Chess Clubbers J.Cole and Diggy Simmons about collaborating. He also said that whenever the super-group is prepared to hit the studio, he will be more than ready.
“[J.]Cole had sent me some beats,” he said. “We’re supposed to get in the studio soon. As far as Diggy, we’ve been corresponding through managers…whenever they decide to really go hard with [All City Chess Club], I’m down. I just want to be a part of something that stands for something. And I feel like this does stand for something.” (Vibe.com)
