It has been two years since Planet Asia left the independent scene and signed a major label deal. In 2000, Jimmy Iovine and Interscope signed the Bay Area emcee and he immediately began working on his debut LP.
“Life As It Is” has been completed for some time now, but has come close to being released. In fact, he has only dropped one single, “Pure Coke” b/w “Livin’ It Up,” since signing with Interscope.
According to sohh, Planet Asia is very unhappy with the situation and is working at leaving the label. Not only does he want to leave Interscope but he wants to take his album with him. If that happens, look for him to release “Life As It Is” independently in the next year.
