Remember the cat that flipped the ill hook on Dr. Dre’s “Fuck You?” The same guy that crooned the hook for De La’s “Baby Phat.” That’s right, Devin The Dude is looking to turn heads on his own now. Devin dropped an album recently, “Just Tryin’ To Live,” and the rumblings out of the underground are surfacing.
It isn’t surprising though after working with platinum artists from the east to the west and the south. The Dude links up with some of hip hop’s finest producers, make that THE FINEST producers, Dr. Dre and DJ Premier. The next single “Doobie Ashtray” was produced by Primo and Dr. Dre lent a banger to for the lead single, “It’s A Shame.” Dre produced another joint as well called “She Wants Me.”
Xzibit and Nas are a couple of the other high profile guests that Devin employs. They contribute to the track “Some Of’em.” Devin’s infectious style has lead to praise from critics all around and many are already calling “Just Tryin’ To Live” the most slept on album this year.
