Last year, Hip Hop lost one of its true masters, in New York turntablist and 1995 DMC World Champion Roc Raida. The longtime member of the X-Ecutioners and popular deejay for a number of high profile emcees passed away last September after complications from a spinal injury. It has been now announced that watch-maker Flüd is honoring the scratch icon with a limited edition “Tableturns” watch for Raida.
The piece, pictured, sells for $90, and can be purchased only by contacting RocRaida@FludWatches.com.
In other Flüd-related news, the maker has aligned with Orange, New Jersey emcee El Da Sensei and his Coalmine Records to host a remix contest. The contest corresponds with El’s recently-released GT2: Nu World solo album, allowing one lucky winner to appear on a remix, with a new verse from El, and receive a Flüd watch.
