As the Mountain Brothers prepare for their sophomore offering “Triple Crown,” they hit the studio to do a track with the newly united Styles of Beyond. Don’t expect to hear the song anytime soon though, as the track has been scrapped due to some disagreement between the camps.
There has been no word of what exactly happened between the two but an anonymous source close to the situation seems to think that things are pretty serious. “Man I hope this does not turn into a Jay-Z / Nas situation, I love both of these groups, and they are real hip hop heads, hopefully this shit can get worked the fuck out!”
The Mountain Brothers will be dropping “Triple Crown” in early 2003 on the newly re-vamped Babygrande Records. Styles of Beyond are still looking to follow-up their underground classic debut, “2000 Fold.”
