Prince Paul, Madlib, Mayer Hawthorne To Play 10-Hour 10/10/10 Deejay Event

This Sunday (October 10), Downtown Los Angeles’ The Sex Club 740 will play host to a historic event. In honor of the calendar date of 10/10/10, 10 esteemed deejays will play for a total of 10 hours. The acts will exclusively play 45 RPM records.

Included in the event is legendary Stetsasonic/Handsome Boy Modeling School/Gravediggaz member Prince Paul of Long Island, New York, Stones Throw Records founder Peanut Butter Wolf, as well as Stones Throw artists Dam-Funk, Mayor Hawthorne and Baron Zen. The Beat Junkies’ J. Rocc and DJ Rhettmatic are also signed on, as well as acclaimed Lootpack/Yesterday’s New Quintet/Quasimoto emcee/producer Madlib, who is presently said to be working on Kanye West & Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne EP. Finishing out the list, who will perform alphabetically, is Mahssa and Danny Holloway.

Last month, Stones Throw, the event’s organizer, released Good Things by Aloe Blacc. Yesterday, HipHopDX announced Stones Throw’s next release, a collection of songs from vocoder pioneer Bruce Haack.
