Harlem, New York veteran emcee Black Rob has released two acclaimed albums of Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. Claiming free agency, the “Whoa” hit-maker says that he will announce he new label situation by the middle of next month. According to Rap blog, Xclusives Zone, on October 19, Rob will announce his post-Bad Boy home, though the veteran has expressed interest in reuniting with the label which he signed to in 1994.
However, in a June conversation with HipHopDX, Rob expressed that he was seeking top-billing on his former home, which now includes artists such as Red Cafe, Day 26 and Danity Kane. “It was something spoke about it like that with the Vice President of Bad Boy, [Harve Pierre], myself and Puffy on the phone,” confirmed B.R. “But, Puffy’s doing what he’s doing right now with all these other artists. So, I’m not gonna try to take a backseat to none of these artists that ain’t selling no records. Ain’t none of them selling more records than me. None of ‘em sold more records than me, so I’m not gon’ take a backseat to none of them dudes. None of them niggas is better than me. I don’t care how many records you make my man.”
