Once considered the mecca of underground hip hop, Rawkus Records has fallen mightily over the past 2 years. Rawkus, now under the banner of MCA, have just taken another lump. Kool G Rap is on his way out. Whether or not it was a mutual decision, he is still considered a hip hop legend and one of rap’s all-time greats and it doesn’t look good when he leaves.

G Rap has had his comeback album, “The Giancanna Stories,” completed for nearly 2 years. The album’s first single, “The Streets,” dropped way back in 2000. As every release date for the album approached, Rawkus would announce that it was being pushed back again. Now it is pushed back for good on Rawkus.

Kool G Rap left with his album intact and has signed a deal with Koch to release it. It has already been given a release date of November 12th. It was originally speculated that he would re-work the album a little but according to Sohh, it will remain the same. The album features Mobb Deep, AZ, and C ‘n N and Primo, Bucwild, and Rocwilder doing beats.
