After being MIA for a minute now, Canibus is making moves again. He just signed a one album deal with Babygrande. He is working on his fourth LP which is tentatively being called “Rip The Jacker Featuring The Enemy of Mankind.” The second part of the title is referring to producer Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind. Stoupe is best known for his work with Jedi Mind Tricks (who are also signed to Babygrande). Apparently, Stoupe will be producing the entire LP for Canibus, which is good news for Canibus as production has always been his Achilles heel.
About a month ago HHDX reported that the Mountain Brothers were shopping around for a label to release their new album. They have found that label, they have also signed with Babygrande. Mountain Brothers beatman, Chops, has also signed a solo deal with the label.
Indy label Coup D’Etat, the home of J-Live, has just signed Rasco to a solo deal. Cali Agent number one released his last album, “Hostile Environment,” a little over a year ago. DJ Fakts One, producer and DJ of Mr Lif, has also signed a deal with Coup D’Etat for two compilation albums. This all comes after just signing Akrobatik and Paul Barman last week.
