Eve’s third album, “Eve-olution” in stores August 27th, the album once again features production from hip hop’s premier beatsmith, Dr Dre. Many don’t know that Dre discovered Eve and signed her to his Aftermath label. Things didn’t work out and they parted ways.
Last year the two connected once again and Dre gave her career a huge boost when he produced her smash single with Gwen Stefani. Dre produced another two tracks for Eve this time around. Dre is well known for being a perfectionist, Eve experienced this once again when working on songs for “Eve-olution.”
“I actually was getting ready to walk out the studio. I had a headache, I was stressed out. I just was like … working with Dre … me and Dre got this love/hate relationship. Every time I write a song [for him], it’s the hardest song I wrote. Like ‘Blow Your Mind’; it just was drama…I was like ‘I’m leaving, I don’t want to be here,’ but we talked and I was alright…I got calm again. We have a brother and sister-type relationship. I love Dre to death ’cause he gave me my first chance and he’s so dope.” Eve said to MTV.
