Ghostface Killah has announced that he will release his next studio album exclusively through the $240 Stem player.

In a post on Instagram, the company behind the Stem Player announced the Wu-Tang Clan legend’s new project will launch exclusively via the innovative device, and that a new song called “6 Minutes is available to stream for free on Stem’s website for the next 36 hours.

“GHOSTFACE STEM. NEW GHOSTFACE KILLAH ALBUM EXCLUSIVELY LAUNCHING ON GHOSTFACE STEMPLAYER BLACK & CREAM NOW LIVE ON STEM.TECH,” the post read. “GHOSTFACE KILLAH ‘6 MINUTES’ SONG IS ALSO AVAILABLE TO STREAM FOR FREE EXCLUSIVELY ON STEM.TECH FOR 36 HOURS.”

While there’s no word yet on a title, tracklist or any potential features for Ghostface’s next project, the album is expected to ship with the new Stem Player in February. The album will be available on two Ghostface Killah Stem Players: a cream version with “five exclusive tracks” for $240 and a black version with “10 exclusive tracks” for $360.

Fans can also hear the album by signing up for a $20-a-month monthly subscription through Stem’s website that also offers access to exclusive videos, a concert and meetups with Ghostface Killah himself.

The move harkens back to Kanye West’sDonda 2, which was released exclusively via the Stem Player in February 2022.

The move turned quite a profit for Ye, who reportedly earned over $2 million before the album even dropped. However, the tech company behind the player, Kano, later dropped Kanye after his tirade of antisemitic comments.

In an interview with Fast Company, Ghostface elaborated on his involvement with the media player and said he viewed this as an opportunity to “cut through” the crowded streaming market. He also appreciated the intimate ways in which the Stem Player can help fans connect with him.

“This is music for these people who care about me,” the Supreme Clientele MC said. “I’m not saying people don’t care about me, but when you’ve got dedicated Ghostface or Wu-Tang fans—these are hardcore fans for life.”

Ghostface said he’ll add and cut each track to the player over time, and that he plans to use the company’s new $1,000 Stem Projector to add a “Ghostface channel” where fans can obtain exclusive content, such as Ask Me Anything’s (AMAs) and opportunities for in-person meetups. He also said he’s planning a music festival alongside the company.

“This is what I’m getting you. Every few months, take that!” he added. “It’s nothing for me to go in the studio and cook something up and just give it to [fans]. I don’t care about that. If you want it, you’re going to go get it.”
