Drake Ties The Beatles' Chart Feat Despite Losing Streaming Battle To Kendrick Lamar

Drake may have lost the streaming war amid his battle with Kendrick Lamar, but he has now tied with The Beatles on yet another chart record, while also establishing a new record of his own.

As pointed out by Chart Data on Thursday (May 9), Drizzy has officially joined The Beatles as the only acts in history to chart on the Billboard 200 for at least 3,000 cumulative weeks.

But being that they’re a group, this now establishes Drake as the first solo artist in history to chart for at least 3,000 cumulative weeks on both the Hot 100 and Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s high-profile feud is having two very different effects on their streaming stats.

According to Billboard, Kendrick has enjoyed a huge spike on streaming platforms in recent days, while the 6 God has seen his figures fall slightly.

The Compton rapper’s diss songs “Euphoria,” “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us” have all logged millions of streams, with the former racking up a staggering 27.6 million on-demand streams in the U.S. alone between May 3 and 6.

“Euphoria” debuted at No. 11 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 and could climb to No. 1 on next week’s chart. “Not Like Us” is also in contention for the top spot having registered 21.1 million streams in its first three days of release.

he tracks have also provided a boost for the various songs sampled by Kendrick, with Teddy Pendegrass’ “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration” seeing a 76 percent increase in streams.

Al Green’s “What a Wonderful Thing Love Is” also shot up 283 percent after being flipped on “6:16 in LA” which has not yet been released on streaming platforms.

Beyond his diss records against Drake, Kendrick’s back catalog is also enjoying a windfall, with his overall discography earning 50.62 million streams from May 3-6 — up 49 percent from the same Friday-to-Monday tracking period last week.

Drizzy’s discography, meanwhile, suffered a 4.9 percent dip between these same periods, despite him releasing two diss tracks of his own.
