Drake has long been a fan of the Toronto Raptors, but one radio host believes it’s the rapper’s fault that the team didn’t make the NBA playoffs this year.

On Wednesday (April 12), the Raptors lost to the Chicago Bulls in the play-in tournament, which means they missed the opportunity to play in the 2023 NBA playoffs.

In his post-game commentary, Pat Boyle of CBS Sports Radio claimed that it was Drizzy’s fault that Diar DeRozan — the daughter of Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan — let out a shriek each time one of the Raptors players went to take a free throw.

“That’s on Drake, really,” he said. “If you don’t have Drake and if that doesn’t work the niceties of offering her things to make her stop shrieking, you get physical. You get her out.”

He then doubled down on his claim with another tweet tagging the “Laugh Now, Cry Later” rapper in the video. “Explain yourself @Drake why weren’t you there last night? The Raptors loss is on you for not incentivizing Diar DeRozan to be quiet during free throws,” he wrote.

The reason the 6 God wasn’t in the building was because he was performing a surprise set with Lil’ Wayne at Toronto venue HISTORY, rather than cheering on his beloved basketball team.

Aside from his undying support of the Toronto Raptors, Drake has also demonstrated that he’s a fan of other sports — especially of UFC.

In fact, when UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal announced his retirement earlier this month, the “Best I Ever Had” rapper took to his Instagram stories to send the “UFC goat” off with the finest of good wishes.

“Street legend,” he wrote. “Hats off to a great man.”

Drake has been an avid UFC lover for years, and an avid lover of betting on fights in particular. In November 2022, the Scorpion hitmaker suffered a major financial loss after middleweight champion Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira during UFC 281 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, costing Drake a cool $2million.

After one particularly brutal loss in March last year, Jorge Masvidal actually invited Drake to dinner when he learned the Toronto-bred rapper had placed a losing $275,000 bet on him following his defeat at UFC 272.

“Next time you are in Miami, dinner on me,” Masvidal wrote on Twitter at the time.
