Charlamagne Tha God has expressed his admiration for J. Cole, who recently took it upon himself to end his rap beef with Kendrick Lamar.
On Monday (April 8), the radio host awarded the show’s “Donkey of the Day” to the “unhealed heathens” who are mad at the North Carolina native for apologizing to K.Dot, noting that it takes a grown man who is serious about his healing journey to pull that off.

“The rap fan in me understands the disappointment many of you feel in Cole,” he began. “But the man in me who understands that I’m a spiritual being living a human existence has nothing but respect for what J. Cole did. See, so many of us lead with pride and ego nowadays, and we let these idiots on social media – who we don’t even know – peer pressure us to say things and do things that we don’t even wanna do.
“It takes a real human to check himself and say, ‘Man, what I’m doing? I don’t believe what I said. I don’t even believe in what I did.’ Apologize and keep it moving. Y’all want a man to attack a man for your entertainment because we are a culture that feeds off conflict. We like to see people at war with each other because we are really at war with ourselves.”

Walking back on a joint named “7 Minute Drill” that was aimed at his longtime friend and released as part of a surprise mixtape last week, the Fayetteville MC admitted his regrets about it while performing at Dreamville Festival in early April.
“I’m so proud of [Might Delete Later], except for one part,” he told the crowd during his headlining set. “It’s one part of that shit that makes me feel like, man that’s the lamest shit I did in my fuckin’ life, right? And I know this is not what a lot of people want to hear.

He went on to praise his peer from Compton, adding: “That shit disrupts my fucking peace. So what I want to say right here tonight is in the midst of me doing that, trying to find a little angle and downplay this n-gga’s fucking catalog and his greatness, I want to say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherfuckers to ever touch a fucking microphone? Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I.
