Cam’ron has issued an apology to Ben Simmons for telling a story about them almost getting into a fight — but Ma$e isn’t here for his co-host’s remorse.
Earlier this week, the Dipset rapper detailed a tense run-in he had with the NBA star at a recent Los Angeles Lakers vs. Brooklyn Nets game.

However, during an episode of his and Ma$e’s sports show It Is What It Is on Thursday (January 25), Cam’ron made amends for publicizing the story and extended an olive branch to Simmons, who he has been highly critical of in the past.
“I just wanna apologize ’cause there’s a miscommunication it seems like between me and Ben Simmons,” he said near the beginning of the episode. “We have a mutual friend, we spoke.

“Not a lot of details need to be said, I just wanna express my apologies because I thought it was something that it’s not. And we have to take into consideration what Ben goes through not playing all these years, how he gets heckled, so on and so forth.”
He continued: “I just wanted to clear that up. ‘Cause you know, O.J. [Simpson] jumped in, it was a bunch of shit, and it wasn’t like that. And if I took it the wrong way, my apologies to you and Ben Simmons.

“And we have to take into consideration, Ben Simmons has been getting heckled the last couple of years and it’s probably not fun for him. Probably not fun at all.”
Ma$e was visibly stunned by Cam’ron’s about-face and joked that his co-host was likely pressured into apologizing by one of his industry friends.

“I can’t believe you, Cam. Come on,” he said. “This is exactly what I’m talking about. This why you can’t trust Cam! He got too many friends in the industry.
“I don’t even wanna know who called him. I don’t wanna ask him on the air who called him. This is why I’m the purest. Y’all want the truth? You gotta come to me. You can’t trust this guy! Look, put the camera on him. This is why you can’t trust him.”

Cam replied: “Nah, I’m just saying, I thought it was something that it wasn’t. That’s all I’m saying.”

In the original story he told on Monday (January 22), Cam’ron said Ben Simmons was “ice grilling” him when they walked past each other at the Lakers-Nets game.
“I was at the Lakers game, the game was over,” he began. “Ben Simmons didn’t even play. I forgot Ben Simmons plays basketball! I was like, ‘Damn, I forgot this n-gga still in the NBA?!’ I was kinda bugging off this shit.
“The game is over and I’m walking towards him. You know how you’re going towards the locker room, the V.I.P. entrance? He’s standing there and I’m trying to get through the shit.”
He continued: “He’s looking at me and I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna have an ice grill contest with Ben Simmons. This is just stupid.’ So I’m looking at him and he’s looking at me. Now I’m looking like, ‘This isn’t gonna go good because I’ma go crazy, my n-gga.’

“So he looks and comes my way and just walks past me. And I’m like, ‘Why would you play these games with me?’ If you don’t like what I say, I rather a n-gga just be like, ‘Yo Cam, I wasn’t feeling that shit. You don’t understand. I’m really hurt. I’m really going through something.’”
He added: “Ben Simmons, in case we see each other again, just say that you don’t like what I’m saying so I can say, ‘I don’t give a fuck,’ and then we can keep it moving.”
