Boosie Badazz and Math Hoffa have cleared the air surrounding rumors that the pair’s recent podcast conversation contributed to Boosie’s gun arrest earlier this month.
The conversation in question occurred on My Expert Opinion in mid June, and found Boosie discussing how he’d conduct himself if law enforcement hypothetically found a firearm on him.

“So you get pulled over, right? cops find a weapon. Whose gun is this?” Hoffa asked Boosie.
“This shit happened plenty of times. My boy gonna say it’s his guns when they come to the car,” Boosie replied. “That’s what they do…the youngest person in the clique for all of time around you. People do that seven different times in the clique. Who’s ever not convicted they just take the charge for the pistol.”
He continued: “I have people with me who are not convicted and when we fly out they check the guns in legally. Get the guns from the baggage claim, legally. I can’t have guns so I gotta be protected by security and my homeboys.”
Around the same time the interview aired, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper was taken into federal custody outside of a San Diego courtroom on June 14 after a hearing on a previous gun case (which has since been dismissed) wrapped.
Fans online were quick to criticize Math Hoffa’s line of questioning and speculated that he was partly responsible for implicating the Baton Rouge rhymer.

However, Hoffa and Boosie reunited on the red carpet at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday (June 25) and took a minute to clear up the rumors surrounding Boosie’s recent arrest.
“They flipped the interview and tried to make it seem like I was talking about my case,” Boosie can be heard saying to Hoffa. “They tried to tie that shit together, but we just be talking about shit in the hood.”
As Boosie heads inside the arena, Hoffa addresses the camera and says, “Keep being cocksuckers, I love you.”
“That’s all we need. Y’all need to chill. You understand?” co-host Gat Murda adds.
Despite the rumors, it was revealed that Boosie Badazz had seemingly implicated himself due to some ill-advised Instagram Live posts.
In the posts, the 40-year-old can be seen tucking a gun into the waistband of his jeans. The posts, which were originally uploaded last month, were essentially what landed Boosie in trouble as federal law prohibits convicted felons from carrying and/or owning guns.

Boosie was reportedly hit with multiple gun charges, including felony possession of a firearm and transporting firearms across highways.
After having his initial request for bond denied, he was later granted a $50,000 bond on June and was released from jail a few days later.
