From Queens, 2 OGs Entertainment has introduced their artist, Johnny Blanco with professionalism and style. Wrapped van and a hot sampler hits the street, with hot97’s Dj Mr.Cee, playing the bangers from the precisely titled,”Y’all About To See.” Indeed y’all about to see, this player blow. Blanco, fresh off an unscheduled appearance in Ft.Lauderdale, says, “I was shown a lot of love in Miami, for a dude that was not scheduled to perform, tore it down. The audience showed a lot of love, hollering, fu-k you white boy, five times after you perform, that’s kinda deep. Blanco’s not offended by the chant, but considers it deep, he says, “if you feeling me, holla!!! “F–k you white-boy, you ain’t sh-t.” I am just a person, you know!!

Rhythm: What’s this Football numbers thing? How long have you and this company been around?

J.B: Corona Queens son, let’s just say I got a baby face. I came full circle in comprehending the industry. I started out Djing, for Nick Swing in a local group with a partner that recently past, (Boobie rest in peace) condolences to the family and brother Gino. It was while Djing for Nick, I fell into freestyling and started to get better, then it went from Djing to freestyle. “You know what I am saying…you stand on the corner, people are like ‘you nice for a white boy’…so I just ran with it.”

“Football numbers is like double digits, I am caught in…like old school and new school, I come from an era where I listened to G-Rap, Kane, Run-DMC, boom box on the side of the bed, recording Marley Marl, Mister Magic. Wbls and 98 playing the Roxanne Shante, UTFO battles. Remember!! when you ran home from school to watch Ralph McDaniels…Video Music Box. I am also caught into, watching the Search, The Third Bass, Jay-Z, come up the whole hip hip thing explode, from New York, and Cali the Gangsta rap from NWA, to the South getting large, Nelly outta St.Louis, Cash Money outta Lousiana, Trick Daddy. I am seeing the best of both worlds while getting a lot of knowledge of the games…Understanding comes with learning, I have an understanding, but, I am still learning..”

“2 O.G…basically, history from the football numbers…I left home and was staying with friends when I first bump into G-Rap in the supermarket…after that I wrote my first rhyme. I had a tight foundation with, Joe Naughty (Naughty Shorts), he has produced for me ever since. We did the chorus for the fast life (Nas)…a couple of deals on the table, you know…water under the bridge. And after dealing with the industry politics (bullshit), we decided to start a label!! Got together with a dude from the neighborhood, we like to call him Danny Warbucks, the envelope man, we hook this up and been putting out single ever since, we released a single with Freeze records, and HRC, toured with HRC. Opened up for Rakim, my manager which is Bill Blass, manages, Rakim. Noreaga and I are neighbors he from Lefrak, I am from Corona, you know my man Killer Kev has ties with Capone, we have production from the Producers Coalition, Budda and Shamelo (Busta), Spider, Fran, D.R. Period. The label is a year and a half old it is still a baby, we are still learning how to walk. Gotta die trying and always think big.”

The album, Y’all about to see slated for an early 2002 release, is packed with, guest appearances from, Noreaga, Petey Pablo, shhh…Sticky fingers, G-Dep, and his label mates, will not be an underdog, but he says, “I like being the underdog, so when I look at the guy on top, I will always know that I have someone to look at, I like to aim up.”

Rhythm: Influences, Who are they, who made you say..Whoa? And who would like to work with?

J.B: Influences…not dissing anybody, but I have got to say it’s G-Rap and Rakim, there’s a lot of other influences in there, but G-Rap and Rakim was the…holy sh-t these motherf-ckers!!! you know. Then you have a Kane that’s a real close third. Down the years, you have Lord finesse. They were beyond whoa, straight up and down…G-rap and Rakim are incredible lyricists and I hope that the new school gets more of a taste of them right now…to work with Ahh, Biance, there’s other things I would like to do to Biance!!…Yeah, seriously, Kid Rock is a talent I would work with…

Rhythm: What about these songs, “Fu-k you white-boy”,”Y’all about to see” and “NFL”?

J.B: Well…Fu-k You White-Boy, that’s the animosity of every person living inside the hood, no matter who you are, you always deal with hatred, you deal with people that want to talk about you, that want to contain or bring you down. So, that’s my way of saying, I’m going to make mistakes, I am not perfect, but no matter what you do to me, I am already telling me to go f-ck myself, so when you tell me to go f-ck myself it’s not going to be no big spectacular thing. I believe in love and hate there’s no in between. If you love me, holla!! if you hate me say, f-ck you white-boy, it’s good..love is love, hate is hate. Y’all About To See…they about to see a man bring it back to what the game once was, and basically you ain’t seen me yet, because, you ain’t heard me and my side of the story. Every individual, has something different to say. Y’all about to see what happens as I grow..me get better, as I go through the motion…It’s good for a debut artist, not being big headed, but just sit back and watch, ya’ll about to see some sh-t pop off.

NFL – The tricky side of me, I have a couple of concepts on the album I am going to let you experience when it comes out. NFL is me breaking down, Hip-Hop and hustling as if it were a football game. I wanted to write a rhyme about hustling, but I want people to be like he broke it down as a football game, “make sure your tight-end, then your whole line is right/ offense needs defense/ that’s no non-sense, Protect your QB, by any means necessary/ or the only thing y’all be receiving is commissary. I think real hip-hop fans like to hear that trickery. I do reality songs, like Flatlines, about me getting shot.

The album is undeniablly a very good album, versatile and edgy tap into www.2og.com, say Rhythm sent you. He has a good team working hard on the album. There’s a lot of people behind the scenes making Johnny Blanco work. 2 O.G. Staff, Mobucks, Joe Naughty, Dj Asiatic, Killer Kev, Dre, Cap-D, Shalom, Nick Swing, Mo Myte, Joe Fatal, Camile Evans, Kevin Henson, Andy, Corona Queens, Van-Duren Street, as always thank you and this about to blow the hinges off…U.W.A.G Rhythm delivers.
