Voices here it is, dropping another ten or so on the site for those interested in the new and brightest! First off Brooklyn’s at it again fresh off the release of the ‘Sound Bombin’ III‘ album, the Cocoa Brovaz, make an official single release titled “Spit Again” b/w “Tools Of The Trade“. Delivering a package of metaphors in conjunction with the reggae flavor chorus by Dawn Penn backed by Nyoka and Geraldine Nicholas, that’s “Spit Again“, nothing less than banging. To the street credible, head nodding feel of Tools Of The Trade, both songs boast quality production, you will have to choose on this one. Better yet go to www.duckdown.com get your look see on.
Leaving NY to go to Milwaukee, where Brothers Coming Up, (Uhh!! Sorry but that is there name), abbreviated to B.C.U. released an album with something for everyone, some R&B vocals settled over hip-hop, funk, southern bounce, throw in a little Miami bass sounds to round it off. “What You Want From Me” (that’s a song), “Party Tonite” and “Act On It” are all songs definitely worth listening to. The singles worthy material comes from Huh Ma for its catchy call and response hook, a toss up for a side, b-side goes to So Sure feat. Precious and Lonely Aggression feat. Pen-A-Gun. The diversity, talent and quality of work warrants a listen if not the purchase, serious calls contact 414-442-0647 for bookings and information. Under The Needle Records slips a compilation of artist as Oldominion, so many Emcees, Seventeen artist lend the talents to the production, these take some shine; Syndel, Sleep and L’Swhere are artist to look out for. www.oldominion.rr.uu is the place to visit. A word to the weak at heart this is straight hip-hop, lyrics conscious and street, over brazen, head nodding beats. The album falters because some artist do not identify themselves, so you are lost following the in-sleeve credits.
Arrakis Records brings shine to the Philly Hip-Hop Community, with their compilation entitled ‘The Spice‘, featuring approximately seventeen solo artist and four groups and of the eighteen tracks only two I skipped over. The Spice is correct, Briz, Pack FM! Kleva!! Reef aka Lost Cauze!!! Breez Evah Flowin’!!!! (sorry I started ranting there) a lot of flava, good production that compliments the artist. www.arrakisrecords.com is the place to check more on the Philly artist. After his show prove venture on The Spice, Detonator Records out of Boston leaks Breez Evah Flowin’s EP. Nine tracks, seven songs which includes a live freestyle, (so the math is now six full songs). The Blaze battle winner, did not forget his followers, with Grain, Between The Seams and Saki that’s definite ode to his hip-hop beginnings. Breez actually has to songs that can enter radio rotation, I give the nods to “Step This Way” and “Pro-Files“.
Crossing into Canadian territory, you will encounter Big Slim, releasing his own heat. (that will be the title) The EP entitled “Heat“, drops five slices to choose from, which three gets the nod to move him into contention as a bona-fide artist. Latin riddims, an easy catch phrase on “Then You A Hoe“, the smooth story-line transitions on Mama and the heartfelt statements on the off-beat, gully track of “Just Be You“. Slim’s bold but baritone voice makes it all cohesive, brought to you by Warparty Entertainment, and www.bigslim.cjb.net is where you’ll find more of Big Slim. Back in the NY, after all the hype of his release, Queens residence Cormega jump starts through Landspeed’s distribution with Legal Hustle’s: The True Meaning. Songs no one talks about that solidifies him as a street Messiah are title track “The True Meaning“, “Live Ya Life“, “Therapy“, “Take These Jewels” and “Endangered Species“, all are note worthy. See Legal Hustle and Corey McKay online www.cormegaonline.com.

Grown Folk Records puts Ammo on the front with a double sided vinyl, That’s Me and Frostbit featuring Chinoiz. Both tracks has its place, but Frosbit gets the favorable nod for it smooth hook and production comparable to the N.E.R.D.s, the off beat chords set to a percussion flow, hit ammdolo@yahoo.com for any info or www.wondertwinz.com for audio of Ammo.
Surrender Records jointly with HangMen 3, just dropped a single that will immediately go to club classic, Made Men featuring Swizz Beatz and Glaze NY on the vocals, sick!! I say! Just combine Busta’s energy with (and you hear him) that definite track flow from The Benjamins mix it with a louder stabbing horn on the bass-line, and call it The Franklins. Nonetheless the can pull it off and sound very good doing it. hear them via www.made-men.com or www.benzino.com . Well that’s it for now see me in a about two weeks U.W.A.G. Rhythm will deliver.
