After seeing major success on Dr. Dre’s The Wash sound-track, Elektra Entertainment snatches the artist direly needed for their roster. Knoc-Turn’al. He releases a double sided effort produced by none other but Dr.Dre “STR8 West-Coast” and Kayne West “Muzik“, both songs are well produced, but!! you can imagine which will takes radio and video go. (Yeah the b-side, do not be fool Dre’s cut is the b-side). Kanye’s production is too unorthodox for Knoc’s street appeal.
Casino Entertainment and Sequence Records, join forces to hit the streets with a summer banger from Nature, “What Cha Know” (title of the song not what you know..) shows his fans that Nature has incredible range for a rapper more-so known for his aggressive metaphoric style, production by Megahertz, represents Nature need to garner club appeal, hit up www.sequencerecords.com to listen for yourself. Along with Nature Sequence launches an attack on the Hip-Hop world as one of the infamous Beat Junkies and Dialated People’s. Dj Babu drops his album an single Duck Season Vol.1. this double sided single, features The Beatnuts & Al’ Tariq on “Duck Season” b/w Jurassic 5 on “Ducky-Boy“, again both has the potential to make waves, nevertheless “Duck Season” comes out the winner, as its hook and rhyme delivery are on point, which will lure crowd response.
These following four records are all very independent releases without any major backing, first up I’manon signed to Single Tone Records, releases a double cut “Emcees Like Me” b/w “Andyadon’tstop” first time folks I cannot call a winner both tracks are hypnotizing and his ability to stay flowing, covering the track like a winter blanket is incredible, it does keep you listening to the metaphors. Virgin releases Beenie-Man’s double sided 12″ featuring Lil’ Kim on a-side “Fresh From Yard” produced by Clue and Duro and b-side “Bossman” which features Lady Saw and Sean Paul, producers, The Neptunes (have not heard either one yet have you).
