Indonesia’s Laze returns with a powerful visual in “Orang Kita” (loosely translated as “Our People”). The track details some hard-hitting lines of the rapper reflecting on social inequality, Indonesia’s culture and history, and the diaspora.
Director Takun Arrosid’s interpretations of Laze’s illustrative lyrics shine in the music video, with shots like the rapper’s shadow morphing into the outline of what looks to be an Indonesian deity, as he raps about how the country seems to prefer the mythical over paying attention to reality.
The music video premiered today (September 9) after being first announced on August 31.
