Filipino boy group VXON (read as “vision”) is here.

The five-member group consisting of C13, Sam, Patrick, Vince, and Franz officially debuted with their powerful hip hop-driven single “The Beast” last January 9.

A lot, if not all, of P-pop groups have designated vocalists and rappers, with hip hop elements increasingly becoming more apparent in production styles, especially for newer groups. VXON’s “The Beast” weaves together electronic dance music elements with trap and hip hop interspersed with powerful rap cuts that explore the scope of such themes.

Performed in both English and Tagalog, the track’s dynamic production highlights the members’ strengths vocally and rap-wise. The Edrex Clyde Sanchez-directed visual shrouds the group in mystery, playing with light and opulent set designs to lend a striking visual language to the track. With the lyricism centered on striving to be the best, “The Beast” serves as a visual feast offering from the rookie group.
